The person behind the code.
My journey into tech didn't follow the typical path — and honestly, that's the part I'm most proud of. I started my career waiting tables at Texas Roadhouse, where I learned how to communicate, stay calm under pressure, and genuinely care about the people in front of me. I also spent 11 years skateboarding, which taught me something no classroom ever could: how to eat concrete, get back up, and try again until you land it.
I carried that same mindset into the professional world. I began as an Imagery Analyst supporting what is now recognized as the largest AI military defense contract in the world, where I started at the ground level and worked my way into a supervisory role, gaining experience in a classified environment and earning my Top Secret clearance along the way.
After three years in the imagery space, I made a deliberate pivot into a Technical Project Analyst role supporting the Project Manager of a Data Engineering team at ECS — with zero background in data analytics, engineering, or programming. None. Everything I know I built through bootcamps, self-teaching, and a lot of late nights. Within two years I had grown into a Data Operations Manager, leading teams and driving data-driven decisions inside one of the most secure environments in the country. In February 2025, I took the next step into a Junior Data Engineer role, putting Python, PySpark, and SQL to work on real problems every day.
I'm not afraid to dive headfirst into things I don't know yet — that's kind of my whole story. Right now I'm pushing further into cloud computing, full-stack development, and data science, while building personal projects that actually solve problems I care about. Outside of work you'll find me practicing guitar, adding to the Pokédex, or convincing my wife her DVD collection needed a custom-built tracker.
